Children’s Home Society of North Carolina (CHSNC) provides foster care, adoption, and family support statewide. As they grew, their website’s busy navigation and years of patches led to a redesign to improve user experience (UX) and usability.

CHSNC partnered with TheeDigital to build a custom WordPress site with improved navigation, a better user experience, and tools for managing events and donations, making resources more accessible to families, donors, and partners statewide.

CHSNC’s outdated website struggled to meet the needs of its diverse audiences, including prospective foster parents, donors, and business partners. The navigation was complex, making it difficult for users to find critical information. With a rapidly growing staff and services, CHSNC needed a custom website that could better serve these audiences, manage events, and handle donations. Additionally, they needed ongoing support with SEO, analytics, a UX study, and HubSpot integration to enhance their marketing and outreach efforts.

Design of Custom WordPress Website

TheeDigital custom-designed websites begin with a Wireframe, a black-and-white layout sketch that prioritizes key elements. Along with a Creative Brief, which outlines client needs, the Wireframe guides the design process. Once approved, our design team creates the first draft, collaborating with the client for feedback before moving into development.

For CHSNC, we started by streamlining their key services, integrating an event calendar, and building pages for all service areas across North Carolina. We also developed a template, allowing them to easily add new locations as they continue to grow.

Technical SEO

We implemented targeted SEO improvements for CHSNC, starting with a keyword analysis focused on foster care and adoption services. We optimized the site’s structure, meta descriptions, and content to improve search rankings and visibility. Technical SEO updates, such as faster page load times and mobile responsiveness, helped boost user engagement and organic traffic. This ensured key audiences—prospective parents, donors, and partners—could easily find important resources, driving growth for CHSNC’s service.

UX Study

TheeDigital conducted a comprehensive UX study, focusing on CHSNC’s three main personas—potential foster parents, donors, and partners. This study guided a complete restructuring of the site’s sitemap, menu, and pages to ensure smooth navigation for each user type. We custom-designed the homepage and 6+ interior landing pages and developed an event calendar to streamline event management.

HubSpot integration

We integrated HubSpot into CHSNC’s website to streamline lead tracking and automate workflows. This allowed CHSNC to efficiently manage and monitor interactions with prospective foster parents, donors, and partners. One of the key features was gatekeeping access to the “See Waiting Children” section, where users could view adoption profiles. By connecting this area with HubSpot, CHSNC could track user behavior, collect contact details, and follow up appropriately, enhancing their ability to connect with serious inquiries.
