The weekend of September 5
th,
TheeTeam enjoyed a trip with our families to Beech Mountain, NC.
We stayed at Archers Mountain Inn, which had beautiful views of the valley and Sugar Mountain. We spent a lot of time sitting in rocking chairs on the large deck enjoying the mountain air, scenery, and camaraderie. Friday night our Marketing Specialist, Eric treated us to a mix of Beatles, Beach Boys, and Eagles songs on his guitar. Check out his
performance of George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord” on our Facebook page. Gabbie, Tevan, Mike, and James also tried their hand at playing the guitar with varying results.
Saturday, we visited Linville Caverns. The cool 52 degrees was welcome after the 80 degree 100% humidity outside. We saw stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone, and natural iron and calcium deposits that gave the rock formations their unique shades of green, white, and pink. The tour included a few minutes of total darkness, in which only a few of our team members were attacked by “spiders”.
Sunday, we enjoyed the beautiful view from Grandfather Mountain. We stopped at various tour points along the drive up, and took obligatory touristy pictures of us holding up the weight of Spinx Rock. Most of the team members were brave enough to cross the mile-high swinging bridge at the top of the mountain. We perched on rocks that allowed a breathtaking view of the valley below.
After lunch, we participated in team building activities. We took turns walking blindfolded through an obstacle course with another person giving us directions to practice communication and listening skills. In two groups we built a spider web of yarn large enough for each group member to step through. Then we reflected on how the
web design process we followed is similar to the websites we make for our clients.

Mountains Facebook Album to see all the pictures from our weekend.
