Since then, the partnership has flourished through numerous successful collaborations, including the development of the Global Women’s Breakfast initiative and the creation of the Periodic Table Challenge. IUPAC needed a robust digital platform to support their Global Women’s Breakfast (GWB) initiative, an international event aimed at establishing networks to overcome gender equality barriers in science. The platform needed to handle worldwide event registration, provide real-time visual representation of events, support multiple languages, maintain engagement across different time zones, and deliver consistent branding across digital and print materials.

TheeDigital has been assisting IUPAC with the annual Global Women’s Breakfast since 2019, crafting and evolving everything from the event’s visual identity to its registration platform. Each year brings new features and enhancements to improve the participant experience and expand the initiative’s global impact, transforming what started as a digital solution into a comprehensive platform that connects women in chemistry worldwide.
Branding and Design
TheeDigital established the visual identity of Global Women’s Breakfast by creating its distinctive logo and developing a complete brand ecosystem. The design team crafted a cohesive visual language that maintains consistency across all platforms while ensuring flexibility for various applications. This includes the creation of the main logo, responsive website graphics and UI elements, and a full suite of event marketing materials. The team developed customizable templates for flyers, professional event posters, social media graphics, and presentation materials, all optimized for multiple platforms and uses.
Dynamic Event Registration System
At the heart of the digital solution is an intuitive registration interface that allows event leaders to easily set up their events. The centerpiece of this platform is an interactive global map that displays heart icons representing each registered event. These hearts change color in real-time as events begin, creating a dynamic visualization of the breakfast’s progression across different time zones. This feature not only serves a practical purpose but also creates a powerful visual representation of the global community coming together.
Digital Certificate of Appreciation Generator
TheeDigital created an elegant solution for recognizing event participants and organizers through personalized certificates. The team designed a professional certificate background and developed two complementary approaches to certificate creation. The first automatically generates certificates for all registered event organizers and their co-organizers who were listed in the registration forms, offering a convenient one-click download feature.
To provide additional flexibility, TheeDigital also created a custom certificate generator with a simple web interface where event organizers can create individual certificates on demand. This tool allows for customizable certificate fields and includes the option to deliver certificates directly via email.
These digital certificates have become an important part of the Global Women’s Breakfast experience, offering a meaningful way to acknowledge and thank everyone who contributed to making the events successful.
Welcome Video Production
TheeDigital produced an engaging five-minute Welcome Video that kicked off 450+ Global Women’s Breakfast events across 78 countries. The video features professional voiceover narration and showcases compelling highlights from previous years’ events. To illustrate the initiative’s remarkable growth, the team incorporated an animated graph demonstrating the event’s expansion since its inception in 2019.
Understanding the global nature of the audience, TheeDigital went beyond simple captioning to create nine additional complete versions of the video in different languages. This comprehensive approach to multilingual content ensured that participants worldwide could fully engage with the opening presentation in their preferred language, setting an inclusive tone for the events that followed.
