My Computer Career is a nationally-accredited school that offers IT certifications via in-depth education and hands-on training. With seven physical campuses in four states, plus online certifications, they help students nationwide get the skills and certifications that get them started on a career path with a promising future. 

With a newly designed WordPress website, we were able to open up career paths for prospective students while increasing traffic and conversions for the leading IT certification program.

Before the redesign, My Computer Career had an outdated site (seen to the left). They needed an updated website that reflected their technical focus and innovative education while also connecting prospective students with admissions counselors. Their existing website was difficult to navigate for both new and existing students. In addition, many benefits they offer like career services and a fully online program, weren’t drawing traffic. Additionally, while there was a clear call to action, the focus was on driving visitors to an online evaluation, which seemed to be turning away prospective students.

Our WordPress development team worked with My Computer Career to create a modern, intuitively designed website that showcased the benefits of their programs and the career paths of their graduates.

We migrated their old site’s content and made it easier to find and navigate for prospective and existing students. We also changed the focus of the homepage from their career evaluation to the benefits of IT certifications: a better paying career and a better life.

The new homepage drives home that My Computer Career is focused on helping their students do more than just get IT certifications, they are putting them on a path to success. With graduate testimonials, career path information including projected growth and income, and clear links to their programs and career services, prospective students can find the information they need to make a confident decision regarding their future.

We wanted to improve conversions by inspiring confidence in website visitors. To do this, we created a full page of testimonials from My Computer Career graduates, complete with pictures, biographies, and career trajectories. This not only gives graduates a place to post their success, it also proves that My Computer Career is truly changing lives with their training programs.

With an overwhelming majority of My Computer Career’s traffic coming from mobile sites, we knew the new website had to be more than just responsive that looks good on all types of devices. Having a truly mobile friendly experience also improves Google search engine rankings, so the website is now more visible to potential students.
